Fox in the

Sawdust

HAND CRAFTED. HOME MADE. HEART FELT.

What sets us apart?

We don’t build tables. We build heirlooms. Every piece is made by hand, for one family, from solid hardwood chosen to outlast the people who bought it.

We build and deliver throughout eastern Idaho, southwestern Montana, western Wyoming and northern Utah — including Rexburg ID, Idaho Falls ID, Ammon ID, Shelley ID, Blackfoot ID, Pocatello ID, Driggs ID, Victor ID, Jackson WY, Salt Lake City UT, Boise ID and all surrounding areas.

Our Mission

Our mission is simple…

In an age where moments are fleeting, and memories are captured on screens, there’s an unparalleled charm in traditions that stand the test of time. One such tradition is the family gathering around the dining table. At Fox in the Sawdust, we understand that a dining table is not just another piece of furniture. It’s a canvas where family stories are painted, laughter is shared, and bonds are strengthened.

Imagine a table crafted just for you – a reflection of your family’s spirit and style. A table that doesn’t just fit your dining room, but also the heart and essence of your family’s traditions. A table where every meal becomes an occasion, every conversation a cherished memory.

Our heirloom dining tables aren’t just about impeccable craftsmanship and aesthetic beauty; they are about bringing families closer. About recreating the magic of old traditions and creating new ones. It’s about having a table that’s passed down through generations, with stories, love, and warmth etched into its grain.

Every family is different. Your table should be too.

Reach out to us today and let’s build a legacy piece that your family will cherish for generations to come.

HAND-CRAFTED STYLES

Farmhouse, epoxy, coffee, end, picnic and outdoor tables — built to the dimensions of your room.

Rexburg Custom Furniture

Rexburg ID Furniture Maker

Fox in the Sawdust has been building furniture by hand in Rexburg, Idaho since 2021. Every piece is made to order — you tell us the room, the dimensions, and how your family actually uses the space, and we build to that.

We work in solid hardwood: walnut, maple and other hardwoods. Nothing veneered, nothing flat-packed, nothing designed to be replaced in five years.

Dining tables, kitchen tables, coffee and end tables, outdoor and picnic tables, and dining chairs — built here, delivered across eastern Idaho, Boise, southwestern Montana, western Wyoming and northern Utah.

Rexburg ID Custom Dining Table Sets

A table and its chairs, built and finished as one set and sized to your room. We match the chair finish to the table, so the set arrives looking like it was always meant to go together.

Dining Room Sets

Formal or everyday, traditional or modern — the shape, the leg style, the wood and the finish are yours to choose. Tell us how many people need to sit down at once, and we work backwards from there.

Kitchen Table Sets

Kitchen tables take more abuse than dining tables: homework, hot pans, kids. We build them from solid hardwood and finish them for daily life, not just Sunday dinner.

Kitchen Table and Chairs

The kitchen is where your family actually spends its time. We build the table to fit the space you have — not the space a catalogue assumed you had — and the chairs to match it. Send us a photo and the measurements and we will tell you what fits.

Rexburg Custom Dining tables

Farmhouse and epoxy, round and rectangular. Built to your dimensions in solid hardwood, and finished in the color you choose.

Custom Tables

Every table starts as a conversation about your room — dimensions, seating, how the space gets used, and what it has to live alongside. Then we build it.

Custom Wood Tables

Solid hardwood throughout — walnut, maple and other hardwoods — joined and finished by hand. No veneer over particleboard.

Round Dining Tables

A round table changes how a meal works. There is no head of the table, so everyone stays in the same conversation, and with no corners to walk around they suit smaller rooms better than most people expect. Built to your diameter in solid hardwood.

Rexburg Custom Dining Chairs

We now carry Amish-built chairs alongside our tables — solid hardwood, made to order, and finished in stain or paint to match whichever table you choose.

Custom Dining Chairs

Side chairs and arm chairs across a range of styles. Pick the style and we finish it to match your table; order a set and the chairs and table are finished together, so the color is right.

Kitchen Chairs

Bar stools in 24-inch and 30-inch heights, plus side and arm chairs for the kitchen table. Same hardwood, same finish options.

Wood Chairs

Solid hardwood, not laminate. Built to be sat in every day, for decades.

Coffee tables

A coffee table sits in the middle of the room you use most, so it should look like it belongs to you rather than to a showroom. We build them to your dimensions, in the wood and finish you choose — to match a piece you already own, or to stand on its own.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a custom table cost?
Our handcrafted custom tables can range anywhere from $1000-10,000, depending on the type of wood, the detail required, and the time involved. Call us today for an estimate of your project!

Which table shape is better, round or rectangular?
That all depends on your space and your needs.
A round table is great for smaller spaces and works well for smaller gatherings of people.
A rectangular table is great for larger gatherings of people and often means you can extend or shrink the table top length.

What is the most durable type of table?
The answer to this primarily comes down to the wood you choose your table to be made of.  Some woods are softer but offer a great grain pattern, such as Alder, or Fir.  Others are sturdy and will last a lifetime, such as Oak, Walnut, Sapele, or Maple.  We tailor your table to your needs and select the wood based on your style, and desires.

How can you tell if a wood table is high quality?
There are many factors that go into determining quality, but my favorite is the weight!  Some solid wood tables are still made from cheap soft woods, and won’t last.  If you can’t lift it yourself, chances are it’s high quality!
